NanoFiltration vs Reverse Osmosis

RO and NF  are very similar technologies as far as working principle is concerned which is water passing through a semi permeable membrane to remove the dissolved solids ( TDS). The major difference comes in percentage of TDS removal. TDS also represents the minerals in water. Hence reducing TDS below a certain level will make the water unhealthy and acidic.

What RO does is reduce the TDS by 98% which is a very high removal rate and all the minerals stripped off. NF reduces the TDS by up-to 80%, hence retaining natural minerals, improving taste of water and keeping the water alkaline

Why Nanofiltration is better than RO?

Significant Water Savings

Significant Water Savings

For every 1 litre of RO water there is a wastage of 3 litres. On an average a household wastes 14500 litres of water annually. Nanofiltration reduces this water wastage by upto 50%

Storage Tank fills faster

Storage Tank fills faster

RO Water purifiers have a flow rate of upto 12 litres per hour while NF water purifiers have a flow rate of upto 25 litres per hour thus taking half the time to fill the water tank

Power Saving

Power Saving

As the operating hours of Nanofiltration are lower, the unit of electricity required to operate the purifier is reduced thus saving energy

Retains Natural Minerals in Water

Retains Natural Minerals in Water

RO Water purifiers remove the essential minerals in water thus making the water acidic and demineralized. Nanofiltration retains the natural minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc in water making the water healthier
